Unit 2: The Benefits of Physical Activity

Tips for maintaining physical health through activity with a review of the benefits of staying physically active and consequences for being physically inactive.

Unit 3: Nutrition

Strategies for maintaining health through eating healthy while on a budget. These lessons also include benefits of eating healthy and consequences for eating foods high in sugar and fat.

Unit 4: Mental Health and Wellness

These lessons review mental health and various behavioral and emotional health disorders. Lessons also include strategies for relieving stress and addressing emotional issues.

Unit 5: Promoting a Healthy Lifestyle and Relationships into Adulthood

Lessons challenge students to apply listening skills and communication to maintain healthy boundaries and relationships which include strategies for maintaining health while being active.

Module 2: Prevention of Risky Behaviors

Reviews behaviors that can lead to unhealthy and negative health outcomes like drugs, alcohol and smoking and strategies to prevent unhealthy habits.

Unit 1: Drug Prevention

These lessons review the types of drugs, the effects of drugs on the body, drug misuse and treatment on an individual and community level.

Unit 2: Alcohol Abuse Prevention

These lessons review how alcohol affects the body including blood alcohol content and the effects of long-term alcohol. The lessons also review binge drinking and the risk factors for alcoholism.

Unit 3: Tobacco Use Prevention

These lessons review the effects of tobacco use on the body, how tobacco commercials can lead to teens using tobacco and prevention strategies for adolescents to refuse tobacco use.

Unit 4: Prevention and Risk Reduction Strategies

This lesson applies drug, alcohol and tobacco prevention strategies and assists students in using their communication skills to refuse engaging in risky activities and provides strategies to maintain health.

Module 3: Reproduction and Sexual Health

Reviews the reproductive system, sex, pregnancy, the effects of risky sexual behavior, the meaning of sexuality, and family planning.

Unit 1: Reproduction and Pregnancy

These lessons review the male and female reproductive system and their uses including sex and pregnancy, and how to prevent pregnancy using birth control methods.

Unit 2: STD/HIV Prevention

These lessons review bacterial and viral STDs and the effects they have on the body including HIV and its effects on the body and our communities. This lesson also reviews how to prevent STDs and HIV with condoms and abstinence.

Unit 3: Healthy Intimate Relationships/Communication and Refusal Skills

These lesson reviews the difference between healthy and unhealthy intimate relationships and the ways to communicate boundaries in relationships and sex.

Unit 4: Family Planning and Sexuality

Students will learn the various aspects of sexuality and the importance of family planning in adulthood.

Module 4: Contributing to a Healthy Community into Adulthood

This Module will review the importance of goal setting and decision making in overall health maintenance, the effects of violence and bullying on our communities and strategies for advocating against violence and negative health outcomes within our communities.

Unit 1: Goal Setting and Decision Making

These lessons will review strategies to make realistic and achievable goals and decision making strategies.

Unit 2: Violence Prevention

These lessons will review what violence looks like in our communities, ways to use communication to prevent conflict and ways we can assist in preventing community violence and trauma.

Unit 3: Social Media and Peer Engagement

These lessons will analyze the proper uses of social media and the effects of improper social media use along with the best ways to engage with peers and prevent bullying.

Unit 4: Advocacy Skills

These lessons will review the meaning of advocacy and how students can apply it to address complex health issues that affect them and their peers.
