"Disease Prevention & Care'' follows Maria as she learns about how to take care of her health and prevent diseases. Students explore habits to maintain good personal hygiene and develop a preventive care plan. While taking this lesson, students also learn about the different types of illnesses: chronic, communicable, and degenerative.  This lesson answers the following questions:  -What is the difference between communicable and non-communicable diseases? -What are the different categories of diseases? -How can I maintain good personal hygiene? -What can I do to prevent diseases?  This lesson is for grades 9-12.  How can I teach my students how to prevent illnesses? In this lesson on disease prevention and care, students will learn about the meaning of contagious, chronic, and degenerative illnesses, as well as how to manage and prevent them.
