"Making Healthy Choices'' follows three friends as they explore their community for signs of healthy habits and choices, discover their influence on those around them, and start making healthy changes in their daily routines. Students analyze the impacts of making healthy choices by brainstorming lists of healthy and unhealthy habits in their lives, identifying trusted individuals that they can approach to discuss making healthy choices, and reflecting on the physical, mental, and emotional consequences of healthy and unhealthy lifestyles.  This lesson answers the following questions:  -How can dietary choices prevent diseases? -How can I make healthy food choices during social gatherings? -What are some healthy activities for teens?  This lesson is for grades 6-8.  How can I teach my students to make healthy choices? In this lesson on making healthy choices, students will learn about the impact of peer influence on decision-making and discuss dietary choices and physical activities relatable to teens.   How do I talk to my child about food and nutrition? If you are a parent and want to talk about alternative dietary choices and physical activities in order to prevent diseases in your family, this is the lesson for you!
