Conversational Reflection

Create Reflection

With the conversational reflection, a teacher can promote a forum style discussion amongst students for a specific lesson or the entire class. While creating the conversational type of reflection, a teacher can upload any reference or supporting audio / visual material as attachments – video, audio and document files.

Reflection Details

The students selected for the reflection can be seen on the left side of the details page. Status of the reflection task for each student is displayed besides the student’s name. Status of the entire reflection for the teacher can be seen on the right side of the screen as a progress bar.

A teacher can perform operations on the created reflection – Edit, Mark as Closed, Create a Duplicate reflection and Archive the reflection.

The video posted for the reflection can be viewed in the player box. A download button is also available for teacher and students to download the video and watch.

All the other attached files along with the reflection details are also available for view and download. Just like a chat forum, a teacher can also post a message within the reflection. The ability to attach an image file is also supported.

View Response

The response received from the students can be seen in a conversation style. In the image we can see a response posted by a student. A teacher can view or download the attachment file posted by the student. A teacher can provide a comment to the response and attach an image file. This shall appear as a common wall where a teacher can see responses posted by all the students.

In order to view responses from a specific student, a teacher can select them from the left-hand side list. The chats from the selected student do appear on the right-hand pane post the selection.

Review Response

To review and rate the student’s response, a teacher can click on the Review Response button at the bottom of the screen. A teacher can rate the student and provide necessary feedback.

Challenge Reflection

Create Reflection

With a challenge reflection, a teacher can put a prompt to the students and ask them to submit their responses in the form of a video. Teacher and student interaction in such a scenario helps empower students, providing a vision for the content and encouraging practice of new skills.

The creation form for a challenge reflection is similar to the conversational reflection.

In addition to the functionality included as part of the conversational challenge, fellow students can view and provide feedback on a student submission. The evaluation mechanism for the challenge reflection also differs from conversational style. In challenge style, a teacher can customize the parameters for grading based upon the content or class of reflection. A teacher can upload multiple files as an attachment to the reflection – video, audio and document files.
